Valerie Bos, Repeat, 4-26 July 2014
New Zealand artist Valerie Bos will open her 5th show with Gisborne dealer, PAULNACHE on Friday 4 July at 6pm. The artist will be in attendance for the opening.
There is long tradition of erotica in both western and eastern art. This new series of works by Valerie Bos are inspired by the charm and delicacy of Indian love paintings. Whether it’s the act of painting or the art of making love all human acts are repetitive. However, each individual act, whether it is a brush stroke or a caress is individual in its meaning and context. In this new work Valerie Bos is drawing not only the links between art and eroticism but pointing to the uniqueness of all our acts.
Valerie Bos has been making art for twenty years with the foundation of her practice coming from time spent in Gisborne in the early nineties. Valerie now lives and works in Wellington, New Zealand.
