Specialising in sales of contemporary art on the primary market for living artists while managing and maintaining private art collections for patrons, Matthew Nache occupies a unique space within the contemporary art world. With a Bachelor Degree from Wellington’s Massey University, he founded PAULNACHE International in 2009 after co-opening his first Gallery in Gisborne in 2004.

Initially specialising in significant larger scale works of art while representing the cultural practises of leading contemporary Maori artists, he saw a place for better management of art collections, as an asset class investment in need of both protection and planning. Nache collaborates with professional business managers and insurance companies to insure that all aspects of art investments are being addressed. Working with contemporary artists, art galleries, collectors, museums, consultants and auction houses for the past 15 years, Nache has developed very strong relationships in the art community as well as art support services.

Curation - We can discuss with you how best to hang/install your works in relation to your taste, interior/space, cultural and spiritual beliefs. 

Installation services - We have 15 years of professional art installation working at exhibitions, art fairs, Museums shows and private and corporate clients. We also collaborate with architects and interior designers, tailored to specific clients and their spaces.

Collection Management - We specialise in Collection Management, archiving and installation through 15 years of experience running an internationally recognised Contemporary Art Dealer Gallery and business.   

Exhibitions - We handle loans to institutions and have a strict protocol while works are on exhibition.

Collection Archiving & Digitising - We can document your entire collection from photography through to detailing specifics and condition reporting, and supply you with options (hard copy and cloud based) for your own personal reference and insurance records. 

Private and Corporate Leasing - We have an expansive selection of artworks on offer, and provide consultation and advice for both short or long-term revolving lease options specific to your budget and requirements.     

Security - We can arrange 24 hour security and devices to help insure your collection is safe at all times. 

Packaging, freight & shipping - We are experienced in handling and packing artworks and can advice on custom packaging to suit any freight or shipping option subject to requirement. We work with experienced professionals to track and ship both nationally and internationally door-to-door. 

Transportation/ delivery - We work with experienced freight suppliers both nationally and internationally to deliver artworks to their desired  destinations. We can also tailor options for specific works and personally transport artworks within the country. 

Professional Framing - We work with a team of experienced professional framers throughout the country and can provide advice, options and quotes for all of your presentation and conservation/protection needs.

Financial Art services:

Acquisitions - We work with the collector on all aspects of purchasing an artwork. From advising to building a collection we orchestrate every detail of the transaction with the gallery or auction house.

Sales - We will discuss with you the best options and strategy for selling a work (s) of art, including private dealers, auction houses and consultants.

Charitable Donations - We put together art donation packages and present to institutions across the country for annual charitable donations. We coordinate the donation appraisal and tax documents for your financial team.

Valuations - We can provide an up-to-date valuation for your collection or specific works in collaboration with an independent 3rd party registered valuer.  

Insurance - We can help to provide insurance reports and review your current insurance policy, making suggestions as needed. The value of your collection will fluctuate with the market and we coordinate appraisals as needed.
