Lockdown 2.0 is the first solo exhibition of works by artist Glen Armstrong at PAULNACHE, Tūranganui-a-kiwa Gisborne.

Glen Armstrong (b. 1971) is a self taught artist who has been making for over thirty years. Glen has exhibited in Tairāwhiti Gisborne, Auckland and Montreal, Canada. Originally from Gisborne, he has a studio and home in Auckland, running successful art tours around Aotearoa New Zealand.

This series of work titled ‘Lockdown 2.0’ was created during the second Lockdown in Auckland in August 2020. A time when all the hard work undoing other people’s travel had been completed, and there was time to reflect and create. Using acrylic and ink on paper provided an opportunity to produce paintings with immediacy, using a mark making exercise to let go and let out months of stress and tension brought on by the effect Covid had on travel and international travel business.
